The Killers are headlining Lollapalooza on the Friday, which gives them plenty of time to get back to Montreal for the Sunday headlining spot. Furthermore, they are skipping Montreal on their spring tour despite a show in Toronto, which they usually never do.
They are therefore a definite possibility.
This brings the list of possible headliners to 3:
- Green Day
- The Killers
- The Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Question, why Greenday? I have an idea as to the other two you posted.
ReplyDeleteWhat about postal service, modest mouse?
Green Day was on a thumbnail for the lineup when it first got posted, it was since removed. Furthermore, they had their own page on the website, just like other bands. There are two possible reasons for this: they were booked and dropped out, or Osheaga wanted to keep them for a future announcement.
DeleteAs for The Postal Service, they are playing Minnesota on the Friday and Lollapalooza on the Saturday. It is possible that they will play Osheaga on Sunday, as they will do a few sets of 3 shows in 3 nights during their tour, and they are skipping Montreal during that tour. However, I think it is mostly wishful thinking at this point, though it is possible.
Modest Mouse is doing nothing in North America apart from a few shows around Coachella. Nothing points to them playing unfortunately.
Hope that clears things up for you!
Yeah it does, thanks for the reply. Do you have a link or post of the thumbnail? Green Day would probably keep me from Osheaga, really dislike their music.
DeleteWhat about the strokes or daft punk? I think postal service would kill it on Sunday if they were the final gig
Well, the Lollapalooza board (where I got the screenshot) is down right now, but I think it's on this page if you want to check it out: http://theboard.lollapalooza.com/showthread.php?4385-Osheaga-2013/page4
DeleteAs far as I can tell, the Strokes aren't touring right now, so they won't be at Osheaga.
Daft Punk have unfortunately confirmed that they are playing NO festivals in 2013.
They have confirmed via Twitter that Green Day will NOT be attending

DeleteThis is true. However, they said something similar via Facebook and then retracted: http://imgur.com/eEkEP1T
DeleteI do believe that Green Day likely pulled out just before the lineup announcement and that they will not be playing. This would explain why they aren't playing Montreal in the spring too.
The replacement headliner will probably be The Killers or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
why no kings of leon? they are also doing lolla and toronto?
